GroupWise users are no longer
tethered to one location, and demands on professionals are expanding beyond the
walls of an office. Making sure your email is available whenever you require
it, wherever you might be, is an important part of business processes today. As
you find the need to become more mobile in todays fast-paced business
atmosphere, the ability to take your email on the road becomes paramount. eSync
2000 - Novell GroupWise Edition addresses this need by placing the power of
GroupWise email in the palm of your hand.
How does
eSync 2000 - Novell GroupWise Edition work?
eSync 2000 -
GroupWise Edition allows you to transfer email and phone messages
between the EPOC32 Email application and your GroupWise email account on your
PC. It does this by extending EPOC Connect, the
connectivity software that ships with every supported mobile device.
Before you can synchronize your email and phone messages, you must set up an
email synchronization task and specify the details of the email account on your
PC. You can control which messages are synchronized by specifying that only
emails inside a certain date range and size limit are to be synchronized, and
whether attachments should be included in the synchronization. When you
synchronize, EPOC Connect checks the email
messages in GroupWise and the corresponding PCmails on your mobile device, and
then transfers or deletes messages to keep them in step. PC email messages
which are synchronized between your mobile device and PC are shown as PCmails
on your device.
eSync 2000 - Novell GroupWise Edition uses the
following approach to synchronize email:
Email messages in the EPOC Email application Inbox
are synchronized with incoming GroupWise email messages in either the
standard Mailbox or another GroupWise folder you may optionally specify
as the Inbox.
Email messages in the EPOC Email application
Outbox are synchronized with outgoing GroupWise email messages.
Any messages in the Outbox are transferred to GroupWise, sent, and then moved
to a custom GroupWise Sent folder.
Email messages in the EPOC Email application Draft
folder are not synchronized with GroupWise. The design of GroupWise does
not allow synchronization of Work in Progress email messages.
Email messages in the EPOC Email application Sent
folder are synchronized with messages in a custom GroupWise Sent folder.
(GroupWise does not have a true 'Sent' folder).
Email messages deleted from the EPOC Email
application are moved to a custom GroupWise Deleted folder. This ensures
you never accidently lose any email while synchronizing.
