Advansys is pleased to announce the public availability of version 2.0.2 Beta 1 of Formativ Runtime, Creator and Studio. This release provides GroupWise 8 compatibility for Formativ Studio and Creator and provides a compatibility update for Formativ Runtime when using Window Vista or Windows 7.

Formativ 2.0.2 Beta 1 is a free update for Advansys customers with current upgrade protection cover and for other customers will be available as an upgrade when the final release is available.

Formativ 2.0.2 will not be the final release number and, when released, will include other enhancements for GroupWise 8 and the Windows Vista/Windows 7 environment. The anticipated Formativ release is during Summer 2010.

• Updated Formativ Runtime, Creator and Studio to enable registration system to take advantage of the Vista and Windows 7 security models.
• Updated Formativ Creator and Studio development environment to work with the GroupWise 8 Windows client.
• Formativ splash screen position updated for GroupWise 8 client.
• Fully restructured project development and build environment to take advantage of latest software versioning and automation tools.

• Formativ Creator and Studio Form Designer component palette tabs cannot be changed when running under Windows Vista or Windows 7. If you are using the Form Designer in Creator or Studio, Windows XP is recommended.

• Uninstall existing Formativ 2.0.1 before installing Formativ 2.0.2.
• In Vista or Windows 7, you will need to run the installer as Administrator mode. For Vista, select the installer and right-click then select the Run As administrator option. You will be prompted when running Windows 7.
• Formativ 2.0.2 beta tested on Vista 32-bit versions (x86) and initial confirmation testing on Windows 7 (32-bit). We have not tested the beta on the Vista 64-bit (x64) version. It is not decided yet when to support Formativ 2.0.2 on Vista/Windows 7 x64. The decision is likely to be demand driven. Preliminary testing on Windows 7 64-bit indicates Formativ Runtime will run.
• While this release was in private beta for ten months and now has been in public beta for some time, as always, please test the beta on at least one or two machines before considering whether to use it globally.
