      Hi all,
I installed a enterprise calendardates, runtime, and enterprise proxy.
But when I’m trying to run calendar dates, I have to enter full domain path to system definition, what I do, problem is that I’m getting an error:
unable to create the ‘NovellGroupWareAdmin’ object. Am I doing something wrong, or does formativ tools is just not working in my configuration?:

We running groupwise 7.0 on linux, and domain directory is exported through samba and mounted as Z:domain (I can write to that directory any text file, so I have write permissions to it).

Also, I thing, it’s worth to mention that I tried reintall groopwise (firstly I run with gw7, after that 6.5 I reinstalled 6.5 twice, that doesn’t help)

‘NovellGroupWareAdmin’ is a service of the Windows 32-bit GroupWise client. I assume you are running the GroupWise Windows client in a native windows session, and Linux on the server?

Assuming so, the problem is due to an incomplete GroupWise client installation. If the NovellGroupWareAdmin object is not registered, the solution cannot create it and hence the message you describe appears.

We have seen this happen when people use incomplete ZEN snapshots to install the client, or have re-packged the installation. I have also seen this happen when the local configuration does not provide the required access to the Windows registry so that object registration entries can be created.

as I mentioned before… we are running gw on linux server, but domain directory is shared with full access for me.
Assuming that problem is in incomplete GroupWise Client Installation, do you know what settings in windows registry I should look for? Or is there official packaged installation?

The Admin API COM server will be registered when the standard GroupWise client is installed using the client setup program supplied by Novell. It may not be registered if you are installing the client using ZEN (or similar), or if you are using a re-packaged installation (for example, an MSI installation you created yourself).

The Admin API is implemented in the client file GWCMB1.DLL (normally found in ‘C:NovellGroupWise’). You could try to manually register the file using something like ‘regsvr32 GWCMB1.DLL’.

When registered, this file will create registry entries like:

              HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTNovellGroupWareAdminCLSID
              HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTNovellGroupWareAdminCurVer
              HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTNovellGroupWareAdminNotInsertable
              HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTCLSID{35fc2358-811a-11d0-8a96-00805fc16077}InprocServer32
              HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTCLSID{35fc2358-811a-11d0-8a96-00805fc16077}NotInsertable
              HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTCLSID{35fc2358-811a-11d0-8a96-00805fc16077}ProgID
              HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTCLSID{35fc2358-811a-11d0-8a96-00805fc16077}Programmable
              HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTCLSID{35fc2358-811a-11d0-8a96-00805fc16077}TypeLib
              HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTCLSID{35fc2358-811a-11d0-8a96-00805fc16077}VersionIndependentProgID

These are incomplete – please don’t try to enter these entries manually.

Would it intall Admin APICOM with if I install gw7 from client CD? Because I can’t find gw6.5 client CD… and if I try to register manually (like you wrote with regsvr32, it gives an error module not found (file is in groupwise directory, and I’m using full path to it).
So will it install and register itself from a gw7 client CD ?

The Admin API should register automatically if you install from an original Novell CD.

If attempting to register manually gives an error about a module not being found it definitely sounds like you have an incomplete installation.

Please note that while it should work, GW7 is not yet officially supported with Formativ. We are working with Novell to iron out some GW7 issues and expect to release an update to Formativ very shortly.

Do you mean Novell client (not a groupwise client)? which gives you something like netware client for windows (or something like this). Because as I mentioned before we are using linux as a server, and all we have installed is a Novell Groupwise client.

Not the Novell (NetWare) Client but rather the Novell GroupWise Windows Client CD. It is the GroupWise Windows Client installer which should correctly install and configure the Admin API.

                        Ok, I downloaded from novell:
                        31 Oct 2005 f32701f3.exe 210417K Beta FTF: GroupWise 7.0 SP1 Client rev 3
After that I downloaded formativ runtime 2.0.1. I installed client from FTF, runtime, and calendar dates, and I still getting same errors. Am I doing something wrong? Or formativ tools is just not working when groupwise in running on linux?

If you have installed the GroupWise client onto a Windows machine, I don’t know the Admin API would not be registered.

I’ll need to see your machine config information. From the main GroupWise menu, select Help | About Formativ. When the about box appears, select the configuration tab. Press the ‘copy to clipboard’ button, then paste the contents of the clipboard into a message addressed to support@advansyscorp.com.

                            Linux server GW 7.01
client 7.01 from the service pack as well as from oryginal CD none of them work.
