    Hello!

We are evaluating the timetable solution pack for one of our customers and hit into some problems.
    1. I’ve installed the Trial along with the runtime (trial too) on a GW6.5.2 client (german) of our customer and got some complaints about illegal characters when starting the Timetable applet.
    – Is this solution pack suitable for use with non-english GW installations or non-english windows XP at all?

    2. For comparison I installed a today newly downloaded trial on 2 of my workstations (one W2KSP4 the other WXPSP1 both german versions with GW6.5.5 client also german) on top of a licensed formativ runtime V2.0.1.
On both PC’s I get a message about an incomplete installation when starting the GW client. Removed the Timetable solution, message went away. Reinstalled, same message shows up again.
In the Formativ Configuration I found the Solution marked as EXPIRED – but I’ve downloaded it just the same day and it should run for 30 days – strange???????

    Any guess what’s up here?

    Best regards
    Harald

    Dear Harald,

Unfortunately for your customer, the Academic Timetable solutions was designed for use in an English-language environment. Advansys does not plan to add multilingual support to the solution at this time. In addition, this product is likely to be removed from the Advansys catalogue in the near future.

As for the “incomplete installation” problem, this probably is because the installer for Academic Timetable is quite old now, and incompatible with the licensing model in Formativ 2.0.1.

If you have any further enquiries on this matter, please do not hesitate to ask.

    Kind regards,
    Advansys Support

A correction: as noted for your enquiry about the Presentation Pack, the “incomplete installation” problem is not due to license model incompatibility.

We believe this is a rights issue which should be resolved by installing when logged into Windows as an administrator.

    Kind regards,
    Advansys Support
