We are looking for an applet that sounds like it could just be an expansion/enhancement of the Export to Disk applet. When we select a group of messages, (or even a cabinet/folder), that all the messages get saved to one folder(not one per message as in Export).
It Needs to be able to save to a user specified folder (with ‘make folder’ capability (unlike GW client) )
Output: auto generated subfolders, based on email properties of Date:, subject:, & From: (exact details should be configurable), with index file of all messages saved in that session.
Folder contents to contain; attachments, message in .Doc form (so that MS Word will open it) and/or in HTML form, perhaps with properties saved in similar name to message body but in ASCII form with TXT extension.

We are looking at the Advansys Message Saver Pack 2.0, but so far it isn’t quite what we are looking for at this point.

Hopefully this is some thing that could be readily whip together. Anyone up to the task?

        Technically your requirements seems do-able.

On a separate note, we have recently developed FML Extractor utility which extract the Advansys FML file (FML file is created by the Advansys Message Saver or Archive To Go product) and save the message body as html and all file attachments into a subfolder. The idea behind for this utility is to take advantage of any indexing product and index the extracted contents.

For each exported GroupWise message (Advansys FML file), this utilitiy produce a single html file which contains all the core details of the top level message and any embedded messages (i.e. message type attachments). Any file attachments would be stored in a sub-folder with the composite message text file and all message file attachments (saved out separately). Core html file will have reference back to the original FML file and all attachments (so that you can open the original FML file or any file attachments by clicking the reference).

Let us know if this utility meets your requirements.

        Regards,

This sounds great… any more details on availability, price, etc…. Also, any development for porting entire email (with attachments) into PDF perhaps?

Sorry, we do not have any PDF plug-in yet.

The FML Extractor can extract a single FML file, all FML files from a folder or an entire Archive. We haven’t released publicly the FML Extractor. Our Managing Director currently attending the GWAVACon at Berlin, once he return from the conference (end of this month) we will let you know about the price.
