Multiple Versions of applet??

I created an applet and copied it to an NDS applet library that I created. This library shows up underneath the sample applets in “My Applets”. However, there are currently 20 entries in the Applets listing for the same applet, in the format <applet_name>_n, where n is 1 through 19. All of these entries have the same source code, so they are not different versions. They also all show up in the menu list on the GroupWise client mailbox. Where did all of these entries come from and how do I get rid of them? I have updated the source in the local copy of the applet, and I want to replace all of these entries with my ONE new version.
Also – NDS only displays one occurence of the applet in the applet library.

Are the multiple copies of the applet directly under the ‘My Applets’ entry, or are they under the applet library entry in FormativCentral?

Generally speaking, the only way for this type of duplication to occur is for an applet to be copied, then pasted multiple times to the same location. Formativ will sequentially append a number to the copy when pasted. There are no known issues that can cause this to happen any other way.

If the copies are under the ‘My Applets’ entry, you may wish to have a look at the date and time stamps of the copies in C:Program FilesAdvansysFormativLocal (assuming a default installation) to see if you can identify a pattern (i.e if the copies all have a similiar date and time). In any case, you can simply delete the copies from this directory using the Windows Explorer, or by selecting each one and deleting them from within FormativCentral.

If the copies are under the applet library in FormativCentral, select each one and delete them manually.

In either case, continue to use Formativ to see if the problem persists. If it does, please let us know and we’ll escalate this issue.

The multiple applets are appearing in the applet library entry in FormativCentral – not in My Applets. They only show up as numbered, multiple copies in FormativCentral, not in NDS when viewed from ConsoleOne.

They also show up in the Applets/Run menu (20 times!) along with the sample applets.

It sounds like the local applet cache is not being cleared. (A local applet cache is maintained on your local machine representing the applets stored in eDirectory. The cache should be cleared between sessions.).

Try deleting the directory (and all it’s contents) called “C:Program FilesAdvansysFormativMirror”, then re-start GroupWise a couple of times to see if the duplication continues.

I am having the same problem. I distributed an auto-archiving applet to my company (~350 account) and on 3 of them they are getting an additional duplicate copy everytime they login. I deleted the mirror directory, and the duplication continues to happen. Any ideas on how to correct this?

Which version of Formativ are you using? If you are not using 1.5.8, please download it from our download page and install it on one of the machines experiencing the problem. Manually delete the mirror directory, then try again.

Please let me know if you continue to experience the problem, or if you are already using Formativ 1.5.8.
