We never run C1 off of a server – to bloated slow Java stuff.
I want to install the snapins local.
ConsoleOne install always gives the ability to enter a path, so why does the install program assume one?
How can I install C1 snapins to C1 on my workstation?

The Formativ AdminTools installer should only install the Formativ snapins to the local workstation because we do not support our snapins when ConsoleOne is installed on the server. The installer looks in the Registry for the path of the local ConsoleOne installation.

I presume there is a problem with the installation of the snapins? Can you provide some details?

If so, we can certainly provide you with the steps to manually install the snapins.

Well, the install asked me to pick a server,
and after the install, the C1 on my workstation did not have the snapin.
I did a NWADMIN32 install to a server,
and today the Snapin is there in ConsoleOne on my
workstation!
Im not sure what happened, but it is working ok
now in ConsoleOne!
Loose nut behind the keyboard!

How do we manually copoy the snapins? Often ConsoleOne is not “installed” but rather cpied from theserver to the workstation.

Tried on a station with full install. Get the messagee “unable to locate ConsoleOne at directory ….. The directory isvalid and has ConsoleOne installed.

It appears the installation is not finding the correct Windows Registry entry to allow the automatic location for the Snapins folder. I will check this with our engineering team. In the meantime, I have posted the ConsoleOne snapin for Formativ 1.0 to our Web site and you can download it from http://www.advansyscorp.com/formativ/1_0/formativ.jar . Copy this file into the ConsoleOne snapins folder on the workstation.

Please let us know if this does not assist in the short term.

The Console One Snap-ins are working good in Formativ 1.5, but i have to things about that:

1. Wouldn´t it be nice to have the possibility to choose the install-path of Console One by hand?

2. Also the Formativ-Snap-in as a single package to copy it manually to Console One Directories?

We are building our Console Ones by hand, because we are using different configs of Snap-ins depending of Administration-Tasks of the “Part”-Admins.
