      Hello,
      if i execute a2gofinder from a network drive, i receive error messages(german):

a2gofinder.exe – Common Language Runtime Debugging Services
Die Anwendung hat einen Ausnahmefehler verursacht, der nicht verarbeitet werden konnte.
      Prozess-Id=0xd40(3392), Thread-ID=0xb5c(2908)

If i execute it on a local machine, then it works.

      Thanks

The featured topic mentioned previously has been updated to be more general: you should follow the directions for a2gofinder.exe as well as for a2goindexer.exe.

If the problem remains after trying the suggestion above, could you translate the text of the error into English, please? What is the full path to a2gofinder? Also, what version(s) of the .NET Framework is/are installed?

i will try, to translate it in englisch:

“a2gofinder.exe – Common Language Runtime Debugging Services
a bug is caused by an application, which could not be processed.
              Prozess-ID=0xd1c (3356), Thread-ID=0xd18 (3352)”

              .NET Framework 1.1 is installed

the full path to a2gofinder: ….media-01_viewera2gofinder.exe

              thanks

Thanks for the translation. Just so we don’t make any assumptions, can you please also confirm that you have set the appropriate .NET network permissions for a2gofinder.exe?

As we are not aware of any network specific issues apart from the known .NET security requirements, we cannot yet offer an explanation for the error.

Can you provide us with the full path, including any drive mapping, UNC details etc., to the a2gofinder.exe file?

If for some reason you would prefer not to post it to the forum, please send it direct to support@advansyscorp.com.

                    Regards,

                      I will think about.

Can you tell me, why the a2goindexer.exe works fine?

                      thanks

The security settings in Microsoft Framework for .NET apply to system accesses made by .NET applications. So if a remote (network-based) application A tries to open a local file, the security system will deny this request – if A is not authorized to do this. On the other hand, a remote application B which does not try to open the file will be allowed to run without any problem.

a2gofinder.exe is an example of application A, and a2goindexer.exe is an example of application B.

                        Regards,
