Portal Manager dont like popups?

Just installed Formativ and created a portal by copy/paste the Devel Guide’s portal example.

I have encountered problems with popups in password protected areas (Portals, Webmail,..). It looks like popups opened from the main Formativ Portal window cannot take use of any informations from the parent window, especially Session Timeout. This results in strange behaviors, multiple login prompts, and even non-working sites.

is this “working as designed”, or have i done something wrong?

Hello Rene,

Thank you for your post above. Unfortunately, this is a known issue with the Internet Explorer ActiveX control (used by the portals) when used in a particular context. The sesssion security token is not passed between certain windows, resulting in multiple login requests and other side affects of session information not making it between windows.

The only work around (other than the ActiveX being fixed) involves changing the authentication scheme of the web site – not something that is usually possible).

That’s too damn bad…
well, maybe IE7 will bring a change to that, but that’s a small hope i guess…

..and i was so close to convince my boss to buy Formativ..
