My GW7.01/Formative 2.01/MessageSaver2.03 menu bar looks like this: File Edit View Actions Applets Applets Applets …[several hundred of these]… Applets Applets Tools Window Help

It’s kind of pretty, but doesn’t leave much space for my work. Not sure what the trigger is but gradually gets worse as I work.

As this is the first time we’ve heard of this issue, we do not know what is causing the problem. As such, it is probable that it is something specific to your environment. Does it happen on more than one workstation?

        Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling:

        1. Formativ Runtime and Formativ Message Saver; and
        2. the GroupWise Client?

Can you think of any other potential factors, such as Windows Registry rights/access?

Had this on two machines. I’ve uninstalled everything including GW and done a registry clean. I *think* the system is stable but will let you know in a few more days.

Critical factors may have been: either
          (1) not having .NET framework on the machine at install time – I loaded it later when I got the component initialisation error message but this did not cure the multiple menu problem. Perhaps the install failed without .net and left the system unstable even when .net added later?

          (2) starting with GW5.5, upgrading to GW7.01, installing formative.

          (3) conflict with another c3po (exportspam)

Thanks for the update. You do need .NET installed for the Formativ Framework for .NET 1.0, which is installed with Message Saver 2.0.3.

We will be interested to learn if you have solved the menu problem.

              yep, it seems reliable now.

Would it help if your installer warns if the .net framework isn’t present, and aborts the install?

Thanks for the feedback and I’ll pass your suggestion onto the project team.
