We use print message in various environments (GW 6.5/7) and XP prof. After upgrading from IE 6 to IE 7 the (german) special characters are not displayed, changing the charcter set coding to western europe will help temporarily. But I cannot see how to save this configuration permanently.

Has anyone an idea how to set the coding permanently?

      Thanks

It appear that, if a HTML page does not contains the META tag then IE7 uses the default character set defined on the system. The current version of the Print Message applet does not allow you to specify the META tag. I have added an enhancement request (#582) against this solution to add string resources constants to set the META tag so that end user can update the applet source to set the meta tag.

Here is some additional information about the META tag: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/928847
