When I do attempt a “Find” on an archive, I immediately get “Application has generated an exception that could not be handled. Process id=0x8a0 (2208) Thread id=0x5c0 (1472)”. I ran another index on the archive and received no indexer errors. Any ideas? The skinny:
      Windows XP SP2

Archive To Go Viewer V1.2, Build 1.2.0.0.2/15/2007

        Thank you for your inquiry.

This error is likely to be caused by running Finder from a network drive without reconfiguring the .NET permissions. Have you tried following the directions in this featured post?

I tried following the instructions and trusted “a2gofinder.exe” found in the _viewer subfolder. Got different errors about the trust failing. Would it matter that the archive is stored on a Novell volume?

I’ve copied the archive down to my local drive and the searches work fine now, so we have a temporary workaround.

Can you describe the “different errors about the trust failing”, ie. what is the exact error message? It might be helpful if you could send a screen shot to support@advansyscorp.com.

We are not aware of any reason why a Novell volume could cause this problem.

Were you able to run Finder from the Novell volume? If so, at what point did this other error come up? Was the Viewer running prior to the error?

I look forward to your reply.
