I try to save an activated attachment in the file system.

How can i get the index of this attachment?

      msgbox groupwise.ItemAttachmentGetCurrentIndex() returns allways -1.

      Regards
      Thomas

        Dear Thomas,

Thank you for your posting. I can confirm that I can also duplicate this failure with the 6.5.4 beta GroupWise client. It would appear Novell have broken the underlying ItemAttachmentGetCurrentIndex() token used by this language extension.

I have written to Novell this morning to ascertain the status of this command. I’ll report my finding via this thread.

At this stage I cannot offer any workarounds that would let you identify the selected attachment.

        Regards,

Novell have confirmed this as a bug, and have assigned it defect #404244. Novell have indicated they hope it will be addressed more quickly given the token used to work.

I’ll post an update to this thread when I hear something.

          Regards,

As Novell have created a defect number for this problem, the issue is now subject to Novell’s normal defect rectification process. Unfortunately, as a third party, we can’t tell you when Novell will address this issue. As they recently released the 6.5.4 client, I’m not sure when the next maintenance release is scheduled.

Did you have any possibilties to check the status of this problem by Novell?

                Regards

We’ll attempt to obtain an update this week at BrainShare. However, I doubt they will have any news given the defect was reported so recently.

I understand this defect has been fixed in the soon to be launched GW7. We have asked that Novell port this fix back to GroupWise 6.5.

Please remember this is a defect in Novell GroupWise, not Formativ, and that we have no control over if/when Novell fix the bug. Given a resolution is very important to you, you may wish to consider reporting this defect to Novell directly. The more reports Novell receives, the more likely they are to do something about it. The defect you need to report is in the token called ItemAttachmentGetCurrentIndex().

I´ve seen, that the problem will be fixed in the version 6.5.5 available as a beta patch.

How can i extend the formative trial period to test it except reinstalling windows?

                        Regards

Unfortunately the trial period cannot be extended once it expires. Are you able to install on another machine to complete your evaluation of the software?

Anyway there´s the time to reinstall.
