We’re migrating 400 users out of GroupWise 7.0.1, and we licensed Archive To Go 1.5.0.1 for all of them. All are running on Windows XP Pro SP2, with all current patches.

Some of them are running into a problem: An A2G archive is created fine with Creator, but when they go to use the archive, they get the error message: Cannot load file:
    <path to file>/media-01/_metadata/00000014.xml
[0xC00CE51F] line 1437, position 87: Invalid unicode character

The error happens exactly twice, at different lines and positions, and the Viewer closes.

    Please help! Sande

We think the problem is caused by invalid data inside the index file. It would help us to correct the problem if you could send the following file to support (support@advansyscorp.com).

    “/media-01/_metadata/00000014.xml”

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions or comments.

    Regards,
    Advansys Support

I have a user with the same problem. Would you like me to send you the same file?

In general, for this problem we suggest that you do the following.

Please send the contents of the _metadata folder (zipped). The exported metadata contains only Sender, Recipients, Subject and Date for each message; it contains only Display Name and Email Address for each contact.

This call should not be closed yet. I’m waiting on the helpdesk person to get me the requested _metadata files.
