      Hello together,

We have a Problem and I hope that you can help me on this matter.

We are observing sporadically access violations in the Formativ.dll on our XP Clients and our Terminal Servers.
We found out that this happens when there is another Application running, that is intensively using the clipboard.
It doesn’t matter if there is an Applet running on that Client. Our clients are Win XP with sp3. The Terminal Servers are Win2003 Servers with SP1. The Runtime Version is 2.5 and our GW Clients vary from 7.0.2 hp2 to 8.0.2 hp3.

      Thanks from Germany!
      André

        Thanks for reporting this problem.

Unfortunately, from our experience with Formativ the problem is likely to be environmental, ie. something in your Windows environment may be causing this error.

What happens after an access violation? For example, are you able to continue working or does GroupWise or any other application crash?

Have you observed access violations in any other process?

Please send sample entries from the Windows Event Log that represent the access violations. The application name associated with these entries will be GroupWise.

Please send the Formativ configuration from a machine where the error has occurred to support@advansyscorp.com. You can obtain the configuration by selecting Help | About Formativ… from the GroupWise main menu. When the About Formativ dialog appears, go to the Configuration tab and click the button Copy to clipboard. Then paste the text into your reply email (or save it to a plain-text file and include it as an attachment).

If you disable Formativ do you continue to observe access violations? To disable Formativ, go to the Windows Control Panel, start Advansys Formativ and on the General tab click Disable All then OK.

        Kind regards,
        Advansys Support

Thank you for the quick response.

yes, after the access violation the Groupwise Client crashes (we have to stop it using the taskmanager) and there is no other process with an access violation.

all the other information you’ve asked for, i will send you via EMail.

          thanks, regards,
          André

Hi, we have been seeing these errors as well, i haven’t been able to capture anymore details yet….

Did you manage to resolve? or any pointers as to what may be causing the issue?

            thanks
