Login unsuccessful error

Thanks to Mike Braden’s feedback, here is a new environmental issue to look out for which we have not seen previously.

If anyone gets the error below when running the Advansys PST Creator:

System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException(0x80004005): Login unsuccessful

Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run MS Outlook and set it as the default mail client

According to Mike’s experience, this was due to both the 64-bit MAPI and the 32-bit MAPI components being installed.

The Advansys PST Creator is a 32-bit application and will work only with the 32-bit MAPI components.
