Thank you for your reply. We will organize to get the 1.5 access information.

Thanks for your message and we would certainly like to you be in a position to evaluate the product. We’ve seen what may be a similar problem before, although it was a ‘one-off’ with an installation of Archive To Go 1.1 on XP. It related to a problem with Archive To Go Creator not being able to create/access its XML configuration files upon initial startup. These are stored on a per current user basis in Windows. The solution was as follows below.
- Uninstall Archive To Go via Add/Remove Programs.
- Rename the following folder: C:Documents and Settings[Windows Username]Application DataAdvansysArchive To Go to something else, like C:Documents and Settings[Windows Username]Application DataAdvansysArchive To Go.bak. This folder contains the configuration files for Archive To Go and to preserve your settings it does not get removed automatically between versions.
- Reinstall Archive To Go 1.2 by running the latest archive2go.msi (1.2) installation file.
- If you wish to restore your previous configuration and test again, rename C:Documents and Settings[Windows Username]Application DataAdvansysArchive To Go.bak to the original name, C:Documents and Settings[Windows Username]Application DataAdvansysArchive To Go.
If this does not work, could you please send the configuration files found in the folder above to support@advansyscorp.com.

While we are not familiar with a problem of this nature from existing reports, it may be worth trying Archive To Go 1.5, which is released. Are you covered by upgrade protection? If so, you would be entitled to 1.5, which would be worth a try. If you are covered by upgrade protection but have not received the access information, please let us know.
If not, there are a couple of options to enable you to test with 1.5. Please write to support@advansyscorp.com if you require these details.

It may be possible to create a solution for your needs. While we’ve created similar solutions, each set of requirements tends to vary. If you can send the exact details of what you need to support@advansyscorp.com, our engineers can take a look.

Thank you for your post. We are not aware of a GroupWise language handling issue which would cause this problem. This question would be best addressed direct with Novell support or, if you are a GroupWise Admin, perhaps the NGWList (http://www.ngwlist.com) would be another avenue.

Thanks for your enquiry. At this stage we have not released nor advertised our restoring feature. We have demonstrated the technology under development at previous GWAVACons and Novell BrainShare. Currently you can forward/reply to an Archive To Go message using the viewer.
Is the restoring messages an urgent requirement or is this a general enquiry?

Thank you again for reporting this issue. An updated installer is now available from the Customer Download Page. Existing customers will have the necessary access information.
Fixed in 1.5.0.1:
- Fixes date range inclusion issue.
- Prevent display of ‘&’ as underscore in menu items.

Thanks for your feedback and questions.
quote:
If I install on another machine will it create another Trusted App, Advansys Archive2Go-
?
Yes, it will.
quote:
…do I need to install it on 3 separate machines and have 3 trusted apps: Advansys Archive2Go-
, Advansys Archive2Go- , Advansys Archive2Go- ?
Normally yes. However, you can copy the Systems XML configuration file from one machine to the other machines for the appropriate users. With this option you cannot use the optional workstation IP restriction, which increases trusted application security but is not needed for normal operation.
quote:
Is this also enough to only allow it to run on these three machines or do I need to put in the appropriate IP for each?
It is enough to run it on those three machines, either by allowing three separate trusted application keys to be created or by copying the systems XML file between the desired machines.
quote:
Is their a way to only have one Archive2Go Trusted App and limit it to all (but only) these three machine IPs?
The workstation IP address field is not designed to accept multiple values. While that needs to be confirmed with the engineering team, the answer is likely to be no at this stage.
quote:
BTW what is the Port #? Can that be ignored?
A Port # can optionally be specified for the trusted application to use. If you don’t wish to specify a different one, you should be able to leave this value at zero “0” and still use the IP address restriction. This statement needs to be double checked with the engineering team.

The Formativ related example AXT files were produced early in the release cycle and we have not tested them with later versions of ZENworks. At this stage do not have plans to update them.

Novell have identified a bug which should be resolved in 7.0.3 release.
Thank you again for bringing this issue to our attention.

Archive To Go 1.2 offers auditing to either a text file or GWAVA Redline. However, if you are asking for a method which prevents an administrator from altering these options, this is not yet available. We plan to ship an administration tool with Version 2.0 which will enable you to lock certain features from being modified, including the capability to include or restrict the export of certain accounts.
Does this help address your question?

Advansys Support
No, you are not missing anything and below is some background which may help.
Q: How can I view the eDirectory object associations related to a Formativ Configuration Object or Applet Library?
At this stage we don’t offer an application feature which reports on or identifies which users have access to a Configuration or Library object, although it is on our enhancement list for a future release. The association between an object, such as User, Organizational Unit, Organization and Group and its Formativ Configuration object (which defines the Library access), is stored in the object’s See Also attribute.

At this stage it is not possible to add a column to the Message Viewer for the sender’s name. This is a feature which is high on our list of requested enhancements.
The reason why it was not included in the first place was to keep the message portability to a maximum by avoiding the need for separately maintained lookup indexes or slower real-time reading of the information within the Advansys Portable Message (FML) files.
We are considering an approach which will include other information, such as sender, while maximizing potential viewer performance and portability.

Tonight we posted Beta 3, which you can download from the same location as before and please use the same password.
The latest beta includes changes to the Viewer, which can now be installed in any convenient location and it can open any valid archive (now has an Open archive feature). It remembers up to the last five archives you opened. You can also pass command line parameters to either open an existing archive or browse to an initial path in the open archive browse dialog.
i.e. a2goviewer.exe [/pa
] [/pb ] /pa is path to an existing archive
/pb is initial browse pathYou can also create a special INI file in the viewer folder which, if present, displays a list view of archives available to the user. More documentation regarding the changes will be posted in the next day or so in this support forum.
We hope this will meet your needs.

Thanks for the feedback and the request, which is not demanding at all, just another good idea. We are already working on the features below. Please note that for the record, until these features are finalized, we cannot commit to them being available in 1.5.
- Recently opened archive list. Under the File menu, the last four most recently opened archives will be listed for easy access.
- Predefined Archive list. A special text file (such as an INI file) can be created and placed in the Viewer executable’s folder. This file will contain a list of archive names and their access paths. When the Viewer starts, it will check for this file and if it exists, it will present a list of the archives available to the user. By default an Open Archive option will be available on this new dialog, which will enable the selection of a non-listed archive. If desired by the administrator, the browse for archive can be hidden by a setting within the text file.
We agree that a startup feature makes good sense to include and have discussed it previously. We will review the potential for 1.5 next week during our next engineering meeting.
