Thank you for your post. What environmental condition do you think would explain that the installation works correctly 50% of the time?

Hi Sean, thanks very much for your feedback and feature request. We use Filing Assistant internally every day too. Smile

You should be able to achieve a similar outcome by using the Edit Folder feature, which can be accessed via the left hand side menu or by double clicking on the folder’s description column (see link below).

        http://screencast.com/t/U1BcXRBr

In the Description: field, you can add any keyword you like, either from the right hand side Keywords list extracted from the email or simply just type the keyword manually in the correct format, such as [web]. Filing Assistant will use these keywords to give the associated folder a higher ranking when it is matched with an email’s address/subject data or when you type text manually in the search field.

I hope this will assist you to customize Filing Assistant to better meet your needs.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

        Kind regards,

          Dear Martin,

Thank you for your report. As GW 2012 is still in beta phase, we are still working on compatibility testing and your feedback is most helpful. At this stage we do not know the problem and will need to investigate.

We cannot reproduce the problem with the lastest GW 2012 beta update (not the public beta), although we tested it initially using the English language setting.

Does it crash on all folder types you select, such as personal and shared?

Which version of the GW 2012 client are you using? Can you send us the Formativ configuration information from the Help | About Formativ dialog (please send to support(AT)advansyscorp.com … replace the [AT] with @)?

          Kind regards,

          Advansys Support

            Hi,

            Thanks for the additional background.

You should be able to resolve the problem using the following approach below.

            1) Uninstall Formativ 2.5.
            2) If not completely removed by the uninstall process, delete the Formativ program folder (C:Program Files (x86)AdvansysFormativ).
            3) Remove any user related data in:

            C:UsersAppDataLocalAdvansysFormativ
            C:ProgramDataAdvansysFormativ.

            4) Install Formativ 2.0.1.

The above steps should prevent any necessity to fiddle around with the registry.

            I hope this helps.

            Kind regards,

              Hi,

Formativ 2.5 is required for Windows 7 64-bit operation. Please see update history for more information:

                Hi,

You should be able to uninstall 2.5 and reinstall 2.0.1. From your message you have the original installer and for future reference, you can download it from the Formativ 2.0.1 download page, http://www.advansyscorp.com/formativ_download_20.htm.

Which operating system are you using? When you uninstall, perhaps check that all files are removed from the Formativ program folder, C:Program FilesAdvansysFormativ or C:Program Files (x86)AdvansysFormativ. The registration utility application is frmrmg10.exe.

                Kind regards,

                  Hi,

Formativ is designed to execute one applet at a time. This means any currently executing applet must complete before another can be initiated. While Formativ allows you to chain applet execution, this feature still complies with the one applet at a time restriction.

Being independent from the GroupWise Client process in which Formativ runs, the Notify program process will open/send messages regardless of any applet currently being executed.

One work-around may be for the applet to close Notify when it starts and re-open it at the end of the process. This may not be practical and not sure of the overhead involved.

There is no official lifecycle for 2.0.x and 2.5 replaces it as the current version. If you don’t need Vista, Windows 7 or support for features beyond GroupWise 7, then 2.0.x will continue to operate.

                      Hi,

The documentation links should not be empty. To which links are you refering?

There can be an issue with CHM files downloaded from the Internet. You may have to change the security settings to view them.

The contents of the formativ_pgm.ini file is shown below:

                      quote:

It is an example file for use with ZENworks. While Advansys provided these files, we do not specialize in nor officially support ZENworks. These are provided as guides for administrators who are already familiar with such enterprise distribution products.

The Formativ API wraps all the GroupWise Windows Client APIs and does not use the GrouPWise SOAP API. The Formativ API does support the GroupWise Trusted Application API.

This means you could write a workstation based applet which uses the trusted application login feature to cycle through your GroupWise user mailboxes and run a check for mail which meets the criteria you set.

If the date range condition is met, the applet could send a high-priority email to the user advising the details/action and/or it could log the information and perform a post-process to email/SMS/IM an alert to the associated end user. This approach should address your BlackBerry user requirements.

The applet could be set to run upon GroupWise startup each day or triggered by an incoming email. You can also use the external Formativ API to initiate the applet from an external application.

I hope this helps with the ideas.

                        Kind Regards,

                          Hi Sean,

It sounds like you are probably onto the right track because we are not aware of a known problem which would affect Archive To Go in this manner.

As we tend to focus on the developer and API side of the process, unfortunately, admininistration of the PO structure and potential corruption is not our area of expertise.

We recommend contacting a GroupWise specialist partner. Another resource is the NGW List, where admins discuss GroupWise issues (http://www.ngwlist.com). You can obtain a searchable history of the NGW List digests, which we update periodically, from here: http://www.advansyscorp.com/atg-groupwise-resource-archive.htm.

Thanks for your post. It sounds like your co-worker may be using the right approach which is outlined in the “Grouping Multiple Archive Volumes” section of the Archive To Go Creator manual. As we are not aware of other similar issues, it is very hard to pinpoint the problem without further information.

Is it possible that the formatting selected or the raw size of the DVD is smaller than some other brands? If that is the case, the export would need to be done again and a custom size can be selected instead. We do not have a feature which can reorganize an exported archive into different media sizes.

Unfortunately we are not familiar with Roxio.

                            Kind Regards,

While we will double-check with our project engineers, we are not aware that the authentication mechanism has changed in 2.0. Normally the discovery process of the GroupWise system is handled by the GroupWise Admin API and Novell Client services we call from the Archive To Go code.

Can you confirm that you able to define a new system using Archive To Go 1.5?

Has anything else potentially relevant changed in your environment, such as GroupWise client version, Operating System etc, apart from the upgrade to Archive To Go 2.0?

Thanks in advance for the additional information.

Just an update. We have done some additional testing with Enterprise Proxy on Windows 7 Ultimate to try and reproduce the problem. As yet, we have not succeeded in replicating the error. We have installed EP, created a system definition and trusted application, and run proxy reports. At this stage it seems the system access problem you are seeing is not related to the operating system, although we did login as a user with Windows administrative capabilities and UAC active.

                                Kind Regards,

Thank you for the update and good news. It appears to confirm that successful system discovery in a distributed system topology requires access to all GroupWise system components.

Thanks again for letting us know. We will review this scenario again at our next engineering meeting and see if there is another approach which could better assist users experiencing this problem.
