          Thank you for providing the complex search query example above. A quick check reveals this issue is already documented in our JIRA database (ATG-273). We logged this in 2006 after an internal review and, until now, have not had any external customer reports on this issue.

          Thanks again for the example, we can now take this use case into consideration during feature prioritization reviews (we added a reference to your post to issue ATG-273).

            Currently we are focused on getting the 2.0 release shipped. While we have long list of enhancements in our product development system, the roadmap beyond 2.0 will be influenced by post-release customer feedback and how the next versions of GroupWise evolve.

            Your recent feedback regarding the need for creating archives from search results is helpful for prioritizing features. Is there other functionality which is high on your list of needs?

              Thank you for the background information, which is very helpful in assisting us to prioritize new features for Archive To Go. Although it did not make 2.0, which is in the closing stages of QA and documentation prior to shipping, we will discuss your recommendations during our next planning meeting and seek to prioritize it for the next minor point release.

                    Yes, you require a license of Stationery and Templates for each workstation on which the software is used. When Stationery and Templates are both required, generally the Presentation Pack is the most cost effective option.                       The problem is that we cannot programmatically attach a background image to the message. This means a background image referenced in the stationery needs to be placed on a Web site to which you have access and the public can access as well. If you don’t have access to your own Web site, as an example you could probably upload it to a Flickr account, or one which enables a permanent and public URL to the image that you use in your stationery.

                      You could make the stationery file read-only but you cannot prevent users editing the contents of a draft GroupWise message.

                        Thank you for your enquiry. Yes, to be able to load the created stationery into a GroupWise mail message using the Stationery solution, Formativ Runtime 2.0 and the Stationery Applet needs to be installed on the target user’s workstation. You also need to copy your stationery HTML file (and any images) to the Stationery location on the other users’ workstations. To find where the Stationery files are located, see the Settings… option on the main Stationery dialog.

                        Formativ Runtime 2.0 is the core framework required to execute Formativ Applet solutions (such as Stationery, Templates), similar to the way you need JAVA installed to execute JAVA based solutions or the Microsoft .NET Framework to run .NET based solutions.

                            If a user is not authenticated to the network, then yes, it certainly presents a challenge for what you wish to achieve. While I’m not sure if it will help, could you potentially use separate LDAP authentication to eDirectory? From our early experience, LDAP is generally slower than NDAP authentication and distribution. However, if it works, it may be an option for your use case.

                            Otherwise the only way is to login at least periodically to the network or use a solution like ZENworks to distribute your applets.

                              For one of the users who should have the Run menu disabled, have you confirmed via the Formativ Configuration tab (GroupWise Help -> About Formativ -> Formativ Configuration) that the correct configuration object is being used?

                              If you have not resolved the problem, can you send an example user configuration, where it is not working, to support@advansyscorp.com?

                                No, to run Archive To Go you do not need Advansys Formativ 2.0, which is required for the Personalized Emailer. Formativ 2.0 is a completely separate product.

                                  Thanks for the reply. To help us narrow down the possibilities of the cause, could you please let us know the following:

                                  • Has it been working previously on the affected machine?
                                  • Does it happen for all users, some users or one user?
                                  • Do you have Microsoft .NET 1.1 installed on the user’s machine?

                                  Please also send us the Formativ configuration information by selecting the GroupWise client’s Help menu, select About Formativ, select the Configuration tab and use the Copy to Clipboard button, then paste the config info into an email to support@advansyscorp.com.
