I found the problem to be a GW client issue. Once I got that worked out the migration went well. I did notice the slowdown as the migration took about 2 hours to complete but everything seemed to migrate over. Thanks for your help. Would it be possible in a future release to allow a user to choose which contacts to migrate without having to do them all at once?
