delete attachments not decreasing size of email on Groupwise

OS is Win7, Groupwise 8.02
When delete attachment utility is applied, email still shows size of 9184639kb in users mailbox. Happening on several emails, multiple users. We have tried to uninstall both Formative and Delete attachments and reinstall but this has not resolve the issue. Has anyone else had this issue or does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

Thanks for your post. Does the attachment appear to be removed from the email?

Are these messages internal or received externally via the Internet? If so, could it be that there is still the Mime.822 file attached to the email, which will include the encoded version of the original attachment which was removed?

Yes, that was it. He was not selecting to delete the MIME information as well. Thank you for the help.
