We have updated our GW client to 7.0. After the update i noticed that Formativ Studio does not display the objects under the Form Designer view under certain tabs.

the tab “Standard” is the only tab that shows objects, and i can use them.

But as soon as i click another tab, say “additional” or “Win32”. The “Standard” tab stays selected and the object disapear.

I have to close Formativ Studio and re-open to get the inital screen.

I can provide screen shots via email.

      Thanks,
      sam

We haven’t had any report about this issue.

        • Which Windows operating system (i.e. XP, Vista) are you using?
        • Can you re-produce the behaviour in another machine?
        • We always recommend to upgrade the GroupWise client to the latest point release (i.e. 7.0.3).

        Advansys Support

            Anyone else with this issue?

Could you please send the screenshots of the issue and steps to re-produce it to support@advansyscorp.com.

Please also email your Formativ Configuration Information. You can access this via the main GroupWise menus: Help | About Formativ. When the ‘About Box’ appears, select the ‘Configuration’ tab. Press the ‘copy to clipboard’ button, then paste the contents of the clipboard
              into your email.

                the message from support:

                Thanks for the message.

Our engineers recommend to upgrade Formativ from “2.0.0.12” to “2.0.1”.
You can download the Formativ 2.0.1 from here:
                http://advansyscorp.com/formativ_download.htm

Please see below Formativ 2.0.1 readme entry about the XP themes:

“GroupWise 7 client introduced support for Windows XP Themes. Themes
are not supported by the Formativ Forms designer component toolbar and
property editors. Accordingly, theme support is disabled in GroupWise
while the Forms editor is active, and re-enabled when the Forms editor
is closed. This affects Formativ Studio and Creator users only.”

Hope this helps. If you have any further questions, please do not
                hesitate to contact us.

I then disabled themes on my workstation, moving from windows xp custom to windows classic and it solved the issue.

Looks like the switch wasn’t being flicked properly for me when the form designer loaded…

                thanks,
                Sam

Formativ 2.0.0.12 is unaware of the issue with XP themes and consequently does not attempt to switch off themes when displaying the Forms editor. The fix is only available in Formativ 2.0.1.

Short of upgrading to 2.0.1, the workaround (as you have found) is to turn off XP themes in the Windows display properties. Unfortunately this will be necessary for every user of Studio/Creator in your organization.

                    I hope this helps.

                    Regards,
