August 15, 2007 at 12:40 am in reply to: Creating an archive of e-mail received from an FTP site #9411
The current release version of Archive To Go is 1.2 (not 2.1).
Is the “external email archive system” a native/personal GroupWise archive? If so, it may be necessary to use the FID Editor to change the FID in this archive (to match that of an account in a GroupWise post office). Then it should be possible for Archive To Go to export the native archive – with or without the main (‘live’) account.

This problem has not been reported previously. The exported contact filename is based on the “display name” of the original contact. From your report, it appears that you have a contact with the display name:
Ann_Marie_Sudduth@hud.gov; Rollie_Smith@hud.gov; estacy@hafresno.org
Can you confirm whether this is the case, please? If so, how many contacts have a display name including the semi-colon?
It sounds like your DVD file system does not allow the semi-colon in file names. Could you obtain other DVD software which does not have this limitation?
Alternatively you could ensure that before exporting, your address books do not contain any contact whose display name includes the semi-colon.
I hope this helps.

The timestamp set by Message Saver affects the Date Modified column.

You can change a Message Saver setting which affects the file timestamp:
- Hold CTRL down when starting Message Saver to open the Configuration Settings dialog.
- Go to the Options tab.
- In the box “Save messages optimized for” select “File Explorer” if you want Explorer to show the correct date. Alternatively, set the selected item to “Message Viewer (recommended)” if you prefer to see the correct date in the Message Viewer item list.
Unfortunately it is not possible to support both views of the saved messages.
The date/time displayed may differ by a few minutes or seconds from that shown by the GroupWise client. This seems to occur infrequently, for example with messages originally received as attachments, or which were created/received by GroupWise version 6.0 or below.
I hope this helps.

The Formativ applet .vbf file structure you describe is correct for Formativ 2.0 and above. While the .vbf file contains XML tags it may not be well-formed XML, but Formativ does not require that the XML be well-formed in order to run an applet.
Can you say what was the exact text of the “XML parser error”? Perhaps a screen shot would be helpful.
The Formativ IDE provides the means to edit script code and forms. For an introduction to form design see the Developers Guide, under Creating User Interfaces | Visual Forms Designer.
See also this featured topic on obtaining further documentation on form design.
I hope this helps.

We have been able to reproduce this problem, and our engineers will be looking into finding a resolution. At this time I have no information available about a likely timeframe for this. However an update will be posted here when a new release is available.

Yes, like the GroupWise client, Archive To Go cannot log into a locked account. This is true for both the Trial and Licensed editions.

Thank you for reporting this problem.
“The folder metadata file could not be loaded” indicates that the following folder or its files could not be accessed by the Archive To Go Viewer:
<path to archive><archive name>media-01_metadata
Here are some of the files which should be in the _metadata folder:
0000000a.xml
00000001.xml
00000002.xml
00000003.xml
00000004.xml
00000005.xml
mailbox.xmlAs this problem is very unusual, could you provide more detailed information (listed below) please, and send your reply to support@advansyscorp.com?
- What is the full text in English of the “dll error message” that appears while indexing?
- Does the folder “_metadata” exist and can you access it?
Please send a zipfile of the contents of the “_metadata” folder, and the export log file from the root folder <archive name>.
The data included in these files includes only message subject, sender and recipient information; it does not include message body text. The data may also include contact names and email addresses, if personal address books were archived.
We look forward to your reply.
Regards,
Advansys SupportTo grab the HTML format of the message body, you will need to access the Attachments property of the Message object. Search the Attachments property for the item where:
- ObjType = fgwFile
- DisplayName = “TEXT.htm” (NOT case-sensitive)
If a matching Attachment item is found, call its Save method to save the HTML to a file. You can use Utilities.LoadStringFromFile to load the HTML into a string variable.
I hope this helps.
