Regards,
Advansys SupportThanks for the additional information.
Given that we do not know the cause of this error, I suggest you try the latest version (1.5.0.4) of the Viewer, which is available from here. Just unzip the file a2goview.exe to a convenient location (eg. the Windows Desktop) and run it. If it runs, use File | Open to select an archive to open.
I look forward to your reply.

Advansys SupportThanks for reporting this problem.
To my knowledge we have not seen this error previously.
Does it occur on starting the Viewer or when using it to do something specific, eg. opening the QuickViewer?
>This occurs on more than one workstation.
Do you mean the error occurs when viewing the same archive or any archive? Are you able to view any other archives using Viewer 1.5.0.2?
Please send the contents of the _metadata folder (zipped) to support@advansyscorp.com. The exported metadata contains only Sender, Recipients, Subject and Date for each message; it contains only Display Name and Email Address for each contact.
I look forward to your reply.

If an archive spans more than one CD/DVD it is not necessary to copy to a hard disk for viewing. The Viewer will prompt when a different volume is required for viewing the desired item. The only scenario which requires copying the archive to hard disk is when an index was not created prior to copying the archive to CD/DVD.
I look forward to your responses to my earlier questions.

We have not seen this error previously. Could you describe what the user was doing with Archive To Go at the time? For example, was it on starting the Viewer or opening a search hit from the Finder, or something else?
Does the error occur when viewing the CD on a different machine?
What operating system is running on the affected machine?
It’s possible that this is caused by a virus or some other malware. (See http://www.winvistatips.com/application-error-t117021.html for details.) You may wish to run a thorough scan on the system.
I look forward to your reply.

Did you do a thorough GWCheck (including the native archive) prior to archiving with Archive To Go? If not, please do so and restart your computer before re-archiving.
Otherwise (or if you get similar errors upon re-archiving), please try one or more of the following:
- Exclude the main account from the archiving process.
- If there are more than 4960 items in the Mailbox folder, it may help to divide these items among several folders, eg. Mailbox-2008, Mailbox-2007, etc.
I hope this helps.

Regards,
Advansys SupportGiven the range of technologies intended for version 2.0, we cannot answer your question with certainty until the product is released. However, it is our objective to maximize backward compatibility.
At this stage we expect you will be able to upgrade your 1.5.0.3 archive for use with a future version of the Archive To Go technologies, although which new features are supported will depend on final development and testing outcomes.
Regards,
Advansys SupportFurther to Support 3’s suggestions:
- Are you able to view a range of different web pages using Internet Explorer?
- Are you able to view HTML-format messages in GroupWise?
- Are you able to print from GroupWise?
I look forward to your reply.

Advansys SupportThat’s great news – thanks for letting us know.

The current release of Archive To Go (1.5.0.3) does not provide a way to password-protect archives. The encryption feature (planned for version 2.0) will include password protection inherently.
In the interim you may be able to find an interim solution using folder-encryption software. A tool like this may permit you to encrypt the contents of an archive folder before copying to DVD so that a password is required for accessing that folder on the DVD.
At this stage we expect the next major version of Archive To Go (2.0) to be available during the second half of 2009.
Regards,
Advansys SupportThanks for reporting this behavior in Archive To Go Creator, which we have not heard of previously.
At the time Creator closed, was the display indicating that some archiving had been completed?
Was a process log file created? If Creator had started archiving, this file should be in the target archive folder. Please send the file (zipped if larger than 200 KB) to support@advansyscorp.com.
Which versions of GroupWise and Archive To Go are you using?
Regards,
Advansys SupportThanks for the clarification and I hope that your implementation goes well.

Unfortunately the data (probably a file attachment) has probably been lost, though this does not mean any data in its ‘owner’ message has been lost. The relevant data may have been unavailable/corrupt in the original GroupWise account.
Please send the process log from the archive folder and index.log (zipped if larger than 200 KB) to support@advansyscorp.com.
Is there a message ID associated with this item in the log? If so, and you still have access to the original GroupWise account, you can use the Viewer to open the original message for comparison:
- Start GroupWise.
- In the Viewer, go to Tools > Advanced > Open GroupWise Message…, enter the message ID and click OK.
I look forward to your reply.
