Sheldon,
Thank you for reporting this issue.
Engineering has been able to replicate this behaviour. It appears to be due to the classification (new in Windows XP) of .ZIP files as a kind of folder (ie. Shell extension).
Please be advised that Message Viewer has been updated to correct this error. Accordingly, an updated installer for the Message Saver Pack will be made available in the next day or two. This is a free update to the software.

I am not sure why the Manage Applets item is missing from your Applets menu.
Could you send your Formativ configuration, please, to support@REMOVE-THISadvansyscorp.com ? You can obtain the configuration by selecting Help | About Formativ… from the GroupWise main menu. When the About Formativ dialog appears, go to the Configuration tab and click the button Copy to clipboard. Then paste the text into your email.
Regards,
Advansys SupportI look forward to hearing about your progress.

This is indeed a known issue, which is addressed by the following (quoted from the Formativ Readme document):
quote:
– Not closing certain item editors in the Form Designer prior to saving the form may cause an access violation. You should manually close any popup form editors prior to saving a form.
At this stage this is the only workaround that I know of. So for example, after using the ListView columns editor, you must close the editor before you close the Forms Designer (whether you save or cancel changes).
I hope this information is helpful.

Thank you for your enquiry.
Stationery is designed to work exclusively with HTML.
If you wish to include a letterhead and similar ‘form’ elements in plain-text email, then Personalized Emailer Pack or Templates may be what you require.

The latest version of the NDAP ActiveX controls requires manual registration before they are available for use. Details on how to do this are in the documentation (activex_ndap.html) in the installation folder; the following is quoted from the section on installation:
quote:
To register the controls, click Start->Programs->ActiveX Controls for Novell Services->NDAP ->Register Controls. You can also register the controls by running REGOCX.BAT file from the command prompt.
I hope this information is helpful.

Unfortunately, at present we do not have a solution like the one you describe.
It is possible to custom-develop such a solution if that is appropriate for your organization.
Can you say how many users in your organization would require this solution?

Thank you for the update. I am glad to hear that you got the ActiveX controls working.
Earlier versions of these controls would be registered automatically on installation. As I expect you discovered, you have to run the utility “Register Controls” with the current version if you want the controls registered.
I will ensure that the documentation for Stationery is updated to include a reminder about this change.

April 28, 2005 at 12:46 am in reply to: Message Saver and saving using original folder structure #8721Johan,
Thank you for your enquiry.
The feature you describe is in the enhancements database for the Message Saver Pack, and we hope to include it in the next major release. We know that this feature will be valuable to Message Saver users. Unfortunately I have no information about the likely date for this release.
How important is it for the target folder structure to be as you describe? That is, is it essential that the file system record the folder structure? Would it be equivalent for you to have the folders stored in a database or other structured file, as long as folders and messages can be browsed in a similar manner to that in GroupWise (using Message Viewer)?

Are you running the McAfee VirusScan 7.5 or later? If so, this is a known issue. Please see this thread for the resolution.
Regards,
Advansys SupportI have installed this solution (running GroupWise 6.5.3) and it works for me; I can run it by clicking the item Add/edit message note on the message list context menu.
It sounds like you have both secure and open source versions installed. Formativ Runtime will not execute an open source solution, nor integrate it with the GroupWise toolbars/menus. The presence of an open source solution, along with its closed source counterpart, may be preventing Formativ from handling the closed source solution normally.
I would suggest that you remove the file add or edit message note.vbf, restart GroupWise and try again.
You can determine which solutions are available to Formativ (given a standard installation, there are several possible locations) by looking at your Formativ Configuration. You can obtain the configuration by selecting Help | About Formativ… from the GroupWise main menu. When the About Formativ dialog appears, go to the Configuration tab. Scroll to the end of the text to the section Available Applets where you will see their complete file names listed.
Regards,
Advansys SupportAs MA has pointed out, it is not generally possible to edit messages once they exist in the GroupWise message store. This is useful in order for GroupWise to provide secure records of electronic correspondence (who wrote what to whom and when, etc.).
You may like to look at an alternative to Add/edit message note in the more sophisticated commercial solution Message Notes.
