Thank you for sending the Formativ configuration. It indicates that you have no Solution Packs installed, which is incorrect (you have installed Message Saver Pack).
I suspect that something has gone wrong during the installation. Could you try reinstalling the Pack? First uninstall it by going to Windows Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs -> Advansys Formativ Message Saver Pack. Then install again, and try saving messages.
I look forward to hearing of your results.

Thank you for your enquiry.
To resolve this problem we need more information about your GroupWise/Formativ installation. Could you post your Formativ configuration here, or in an email to support@advansyscorp.com ?
You can obtain the configuration by selecting Help | About Formativ… from the GroupWise main menu. When the About Formativ dialog appears, go to the Configuration tab and click the button Copy to clipboard. Then paste the text into your email message body.
We hope to hear from you again soon.

Peter,
Thank you for your enquiry.
If you want ListView subitems to be visible, be sure to set the property ViewStyle to vsReport. The following is a simple code example to populate a TRzListView…
Sub Main(Client, GWEvent) dim I dim iFruit, iFruits dim oItem ' Initialize a 2-dimensional array of data. iFruits = Array(Array("Apple", "July-Oct"), _ Array("Cherry", "May-June"), _ Array("Fig", "July-Sep"), _ Array("Kiwifruit", "Oct-May")) ' This assumes a form MainForm with TRzListView named ' ListView which has two columns defined. with MainForm.ListView .Column(0).Caption = "Fruit" .Column(1).Caption = "Months in season" .Items.BeginUpdate .Items.Clear for I = 0 to UBound(iFruits) iFruit = iFruits(I) set oItem = .Items.Add oItem.Caption = iFruit(0) oItem.SubItems.Add(iFruit(1)) next .Items.EndUpdate end with MainForm.ShowModal End SubI hope this helps you.

I am not sure what you mean by “called up a calender in my cabinet.” This applet exports appointments that belong to the login GroupWise user account.
Perhaps you are trying to access a different user account, or using a date range for which no appointments exist. You should login to the appropriate GroupWise account and specify a date range in which appointments do exist.
Note that this applet was updated last week, and now includes additional columns for Recipient and Sender.

Unfortunately it is not possible for Message Saver to modify the GroupWise folder tree to include “folder links” of the kind you describe. GroupWise does not provide any means for customizing the client in this way.
Nevertheless, it may be possible to build into Message Saver the capability to speed up/simplify saving messages to different disk folders on an ad-hoc basis. This would involve a user interface distinct from the GroupWise folder tree, and could work via drag ‘n’ drop as mentioned in my previous post.
Are there any other Message Saver users who are interested in a feature like this?

Cees,
Thank you for posting your suggestions, which will be added to the list of enhancement requests.
At present our engineers are reviewing the feature list for the next major release of Message Saver Pack. A release date is not available right now, but Engineering does take care to consider requests such as yours very seriously.
Once again, thank you for the feedback, and please do not hesitate to contact us with further comments or requests.

I think save an entire folder can mean a couple of things. One, to save all messages in the selected folder and in all of its subfolders. Two, to save all messages in the selected folder only (regardless of whether the folder has subfolders).
Option two describes Message Saver, which (in the current version) does not export the GroupWise folder structure. It’s very likely this feature will be included in the next major release of the Message Saver Pack.
Do you find that selecting a folder does not lead to saving all of its messages, eg. only the first message is saved? If so, this is because GroupWise autoselects the first message in a folder when you change the folder. You will need to deselect the default message selection before starting Message Saver. To deselect, press the CTRL key while using the mouse to click the message.
I am not sure what “network folder links” might be; as far as I know, this is not a feature of GroupWise. However, it’s possible that drag ‘n’ drop of the kind you describe could be included in the next major release. This is because the release will take advantage of powerful user interface features in Formativ 2.0. I will forward this idea to Engineering for consideration in the release.
In the meantime, one workaround to the tedious folder navigating is as follows. Move your messages from the Mailbox to other GroupWise folders, eg. personal folders. Then at the end of a suitable period (day/week/etc.), save each folder with Message Saver.
I hope this helps. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further comments or queries.

Marco,
Thank you for enquiry.
- We have been investigating the application errors you describe. They are related to Formativ 2.0 and we are working on fixing the problem. Please check the Formativ Support page Update History over the next few days, when we will release a free update.
- Unfortunately Message Saver 1.2 does not provide a way to export the GroupWise folder structure. (We are working on adding this feature for the next major release.)
If you want to avoid changing your usual default folder, have you tried using configure session mode? This mode is described in the supplied Users Guide. In configure session mode, you can change the default folder temporarily, ie. only for the current session of Message Saver:
1. Select the messages/folder to save, then hold the SHIFT key as you start Message Saver. The Configuration Settings (this session only) dialog will appear.
2. Select the specific folder you require.
3. Click OK to save. When saving has completed, your original default folder will be restored.
I hope this helps you.

Thank you for the clarification.
We have confirmed that this is a defect in the Message Saver. To be exact, Message Saver fails to save a message’s attachments when Ask which attachments should be saved is checked and the message has a Mime.822 attachment. (Support for interactive selection of attachments was overlooked in the processing of such messages.)
Our engineers are working on a solution to this problem and we hope to release an update to the Message Saver Pack by the end of the week.
Once again, thank you for the feedback.

Thank you for your enquiry.
We are not aware of any specific problems with Message Saver Pack and Citrix MetaFrames.
The cross-hatched icon corresponds to the GroupWise attachment icon that indicates an attachment is unavailable. It’s usually visible when using GroupWise in caching mode: the Mime.822 attachment is displayed with this icon, because this attachment’s content is not retrieved from the server.
With Message Saver it is possible to exclude selected attachments from the saved message. This is a configuration option, Ask which attachments should be saved. Though you may choose to do this, Message Viewer always displays icons in the attachment list (for a message with attachments), even if an attachment’s content is unavailable. Is it possible that this option was selected for the configuration on the relevant system?
I look forward to resolving this issue very soon.

I am not sure why your customer’s Applets menu has disappeared. This can happen with Formativ Runtime if no applets are installed (or the applets are in a location/s that Runtime does not check automatically).
Are there error messages on starting Groupwise?
Which versions of GroupWise and Formativ has your customer installed?
You can find out which locations are used by Runtime with the Formativ applet in the Windows Control Panel. Select the Paths tab to see these locations. You may need to move the applet/s (if any are installed) to the folder for personal applets.
If the above is not possible then please post your Formativ configuration. You can obtain the configuration as follows: go to the GroupWise Help menu and select About Formativ… When the About dialog appears, select the Configuration tab and click the Copy to clipboard button. Then paste the copied text into your reply.
Now to your two questions.
1) Formativ 2.0 Studio is the successor of Formativ 1.6 Admin.
2) I am not aware of any backwards-incompatibilities with Formativ 2.0.I hope this helps you.

I know of two ways to obtain the alarm time.
- Use AlarmTime to get the time at which the AlarmProgram is to execute. If the alarm is not set, this property will return “12:00:00 AM”
MsgBox oMsg.AlarmTime
- Use AlarmSet to check that an alarm was set for this appointment, then use AlarmReminderMinutes to get the number of minutes before the alarm rings. These properties were introduced in GroupWise 6.5 SP2 and later.
if (GroupWise.EnvVersionName >= "6.5") then if oMsg.AlarmSet then MsgBox oMsg.AlarmReminderMinutes end if end if
See the online GroupWise API reference here.
I hope this helps you.

The Forms Designer was introduced in Formativ 2.0. This (current) version does not support adding a new component to the toolbar (Component Palette).

I don’t think we were aware of this behavioral distinction between versions 1.6 and 2.0 of Formativ with McAfee 8.0i.
